I’m Kennette J. Burgess—the fearless creator of Distinct Apparel, where fashion meets empowerment and boldness is the standard. As a Bermudian fashion designer, marketer, and entrepreneur, I’ve spent over 15 years shaping brands, leading movements, and designing pieces that celebrate identity, culture, and confidence.

Distinct Apparel isn’t just clothing—it’s a call to action. It’s for those who Dare to Be Distinct—the ones who own their style, stand in their power, and embrace what makes them unique. Inspired by my Bermudian roots, my love for tourism, and the need for inclusive fashion, I made it my mission to design statement-making apparel that fits EVERY body, from youth to 6X. Because true style knows no size.

Her passion for design began early, dating back to her days at Francis Patton Primary, through The Berkeley Institute in Bermuda, and continuing through Winston-Salem State University. From knitting blankets with her grandparents and crafting custom denim bags to hand-designing festive carnival bras and jewelry, Kennette’s creativity knew no bounds. Starting a custom jewelry business in elementary school was her first step into entrepreneurship. What started as youthful experimentation has evolved into a bold, trendsetting fashion brand that dares people to be distinct.
